Nature shows the way
For anyone who embraces nature there is no escaping photovoltaics. The sun is the source of all life. The polar bar acts as a role model: it takes up energy, the warmth it needs to be able to exist in its habitat. Just like the human being needs energy for survival. The polar bear prompts us to think more logically than so far and to forge new paths.
Perhaps it was a coincidence that one of the founders of our company came across a study analysing the finite nature of fossil energy sources. Or was it his lot to realize that the age of fossil fuel resources is but a brief phase in human history? Their supply is limited. Their exploitation produces ever more waste gas, waste heat and waste material. In much the same way as nuclear power, they fail to form cycles and they destroy the complex balance of nature that has evolved over millions of years. They pose a threat to the resources on which our life depends.
Therefore new technologies for using regenerative sources of energy are an urgent necessity. What is at stake is nothing less than the survival of human civilization as we know it today. Solar energy plays a key role. The technical potential is manifold. As the polar bear shows: it all hinges on having the right ideas.
